Brenda C. Karastury

Brenda C. Karastury, 79 of Columbus, Georgia passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Piedmont Hospital in Columbus, Ga.  Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 23, 2024, at 2pm EST at McMullen Funeral Home, Columbus, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 1:00pm. A private burial will take place at Parkhill Cemetery.

Mrs Karastury was born July 28, 1945, in Columbus, Georgia, daughter of the late Robert Clarence Hightower and Marguerite Carol Moss Hightower. She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister Janice Knox, and one brother Ricky Hightower.  Mrs Karastury is survived by: her loving husband of 62 years Frank P. Karastury Sr. two sons Frank Paul Karastury Jr and wife Paige, and son Jon C. Karastury and wife Jamie; grandchildren, Mindy Karastury, Nicole Karastury (Drew), Joshua Karastury (Christina), Crystal Gilmore (Courtney), and Jonathan Karastury (Sydney), Hunter Adams; 12 great grandchildren: three brothers, Larry Hightower (Linda), Terry Hightower (LaQuita), and Roy Hightower (Angela); many nieces and nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.

Mrs Karastury retired as a Director from Aflac (American Family Life Assurance Company). She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, where she faithfully attended and served on several committees. She loved and cherished her children and grandchildren…She loved Christmas and spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader and loved to cook, especially at holidays. Mrs Karastury was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
