Brenda Kay Brooks Elliott (“Brenny” to her grandchildren), age 73, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022.
A Memorial Celebration will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 7, 2022 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Jerry Akin officiating. A brief visitation will be held after the services at the funeral home.
Brenda was born on November 7, 1948 in Phenix City, Alabama to Clifford and Adell Brooks. She was the oldest of 4 girls (sisters: Susan, Margaret, and Patty) and a mama to many throughout her life. Brenda worked diligently with attorneys serving the real estate industry for over 50 years; she was well known and well respected for her hard work, knowledge, and dedication to her job. Brenda was a member of Morningside Baptist Church for many years, and later faithfully attended Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church. As Jesus commanded in Matthew 22:37, she loved the Lord with all of heart, mind, and strength; and she loved her neighbor. Brenda was known for her hospitality, opening up her home for Halloween festivities for over 40 years. More than anything, she adored her husband, Pat, children and grandchildren. Brenda will be missed by many, but those who knew her rejoice in the assurance that she is healed and resting in the arms of Jesus. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Adell Brooks, a number of loved family and friends, and her favorite cat, Julia.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Pat Elliott; children Stephen and Jenny Digby, and Josh and Amy Elliott; and her beloved grandchildren Ava Elliott (11), Luke Digby (9) and Jack Elliott (3).
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks, gratitude, and appreciation to the nurses and doctors at Piedmont Northside for the phenomenal and loving care they provided. We also wish to express our gratitude to our family and friends who provided so much attention and care to Brenda over the past several weeks.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations in Brenda’s memory may be made to: Morningside Baptist Church Library, Pierce Chapel UMC Faith Promise, Feeding the Valley, Camp Joy, Easter Seals, or an organization of your choice.
