Bonnie was born on March 29, 1964 in Trinton, New Jersey. She was raised in Maryland where she is survived by her mother, Katie Barnes, father, Theodric Barnes, aunt, Pearl Jarmon, sister, Vanessa Barnes, niece, Arymis Nelson, uncles, Clifford Jarmon, Wayne Jarmon, Lawrence Jarmon and Willie Jarmon. She was a beloved mother to one daughter, Katie Blackwell, whom she raised in Georgia. Here is where she would see Katie married to Kevin Blackwell, partnered with Shelby James, and become a beloved gran-gran to Symphany and Ezra with a new grandchild on the way. Her sister-in-law Stephanie Blackwell also lives in Georgia.

Bonnie loved and enjoyed her family deeply, consistently sending prayers and well wishes on their behalf. This love radiated out towards young children, as she was an infant caregiver for most of her career. Her love for children, especially babies, was always evident in her great care.

Bonnie was a quiet person, and a bit shy with strangers. But her family knew her to be excitable, especially when cheering for her favorite team, the Washington Redskins. She loved watching sports, shopping for her daughter and grandchildren, and spending time at home. She was also an avid writer, keeping up with a personal journal daily.

Bonnie was on the prayer team at Edgewood. She loved praying for people, as she was very discerning about those who needed prayer. She was always observant to people's feelings, and used her gift of prayer often for anyone who needed them.

Bonnie was a deep believer in Christ. She knew the source of her strength and her faith never wavered. She was a faithful church member. When she was well, she often worked in the kitchen during fellowship suppers. In her quiet way, she was always busy, getting things ready for the meal.

Bonnie's main concern was that she not worry her family, her heart filled with prayers for them. The welfare of her family was very important to her, rivaled only by her love of God. Her last words in her journal was telling Christ of her love for Him, and the last words from her lips “I love you” to her daughter. She will always be remembered for this deep and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed.
