Bonnie M. DeMent, 93, of Columbus Died Wednesday November 11, 2009 at the Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday November 13, 2009 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus with Reverend Steve King officiating. Graveside services will be 12:00 noon CST Saturday November 14, 2009 in Decatur Cemetery in Decatur, AL. The family will receive friends after the service Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. DeMent was born August 18, 1916 in Limestone County, AL to the late Leonard Moore and Vera McConnel Moore. She was a member of Gentian Baptist Church and a former member of Southside Baptist Church in Decatur, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband John B. DeMent, Sr., sons, John Bruce DeMent and Jack Wendell DeMent, sisters, Jenny Weigart and Willo Dean Masters, and grandson, Paul L. DeMent, Jr.
Survivors include her son Paul L. DeMent, Sr. and daughter-in-law Cheryl Lankenau of Columbus, sisters, Robbie Hicks of Green Cove Springs, Fl, and Tommie Delano Tribble of Elkmont, AL, brother, Buddy Moore of Elkmont, AL, daughter-in-laws, Camilla Rich of Columbus and Cynthia DeMent of Columbus, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
