Bobby Fred Tinney, 80, of Fortson, GA died Sunday, July 19, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00PM Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Britt David Baptist Church with Dr. Tim Jones and Rev. Billy Duncan officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, those attending the funeral service will be required to wear a face mask and social distancing will be in effect. The services will be live streamed for those not able to attend the services.
Bobby was born July 3, 1940 in Lineville, AL to the late Willis Isaac Tinney and Eva Arizona McCain Tinney. He worked at Sunshine for 40 years as a Machinist and an Electrician. Bobby was a master repairman and loved to build things with his hands. He loved to travel and fish but most of all he was a devoted grandfather. He was chairman of the Deacons at Britt David Baptist Church where he volunteered a lot of his time. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Jean Farris.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Martha Fullerton Tinney of Fortson, GA, sons, Russell Warren Tinney of Fortson, GA, Scott Tinney (Anitra) of Clearwater, FL, grandchildren, Cheri Tinney (Michael Howell) of Elizabethton, TN, Hunter Tinney of Morristown, TN, step-grandchildren, Amber Barefield (James) of Columbus, GA, Brandy Wilson of Smiths, AL, numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Britt David Building Fund, 2801 W. Britt David Road Columbus, Georgia 31909.
