Bobby Leonard Taft, 82, of Columbus, GA died Monday, July 1, 2024 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Friday, July 5, 2024 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Chaplain Allison Owens officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907.
Bobby was born December 23, 1941 in Columbus, GA to the late Perry Taft and Mary Howard Taft. He actively participated in hunting, bowling and adult softball. He was a fan of wrestling and an even bigger Georgia fan. Bobby was a member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 60 years Eleanor Taft of Columbus, GA; brother, Cecil Taft (Melanie) of Buena Vista, GA; nieces, Sharon Thigpen (Scott) of Cataula, GA, Robin Deardeuff (Jim) of Cataula, GA, Lauren Hall (Brian) of Cataula, GA, Jennifer Glines of Columbus, GA, Barbara Martin (Scott) of Columbus, GA, Amanda Martin (Wesley) of Columbus, GA; nephews, Scott Taft (Maria) of Columbus, GA, Allen Taft of Columbus, GA, Jerry Averill (Jenny) of Pine Mountain, GA; brother-in-law, Bill Preskitt (Becky) of Ellerslie, GA; special friends Michael Scrimpshire and Fred Williams and many great nieces and nephews that he loved.
