Blanche Valerie Jones, 86, of Columbus, GA, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Melody Lakes Baptist Church with Pastor Lewis Brown officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the Church according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Jones was born August 20, 1927 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Robert Hodge and Rosie Mae Lewis Hensley. She was a nursing home volunteer and was a sales associate at K-Mart.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Prather Jones and son, Ronald Jones; brother, Daniel "Buddy" Hodge, Sr.; and sister, Deloris Strickland; and great-grandchild, Alyssa Culpepper.
Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Culpepper (Bruce) of Waverly Hall, GA, Rebecca Jones Andrews of Columbus, GA and Latina Riddle (Mike) of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Brian Culpepper (Stephanie) of Columbus, GA, Stacy Frazier (Paul) of Londonderry, OH, Brad Culpepper (Jennifer) of Waverly Hall, GA, Valerie Riley (Quinton) of Phenix City, AL, Scotty Riddle (Jen) of Phenix City, AL, Jeff Goynes (Jessie) of Milton, FL, Sha Betts of Columbus, GA; great-grandchildren, Ina Riley, Kayden Riddle, Tyler Frazier, Lilly Goynes, Ace Fitzwater, and Aaron Culpepper; brother, Minford Hodge of Columbus, GA; sisters, Shirley Akridge of Thomasville, GA, Betty Poole of Powder Springs, GA, and Bobbie Slevers of York, SC.
