Billy N. Wadsworth, 83, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, December 3, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, December 7, 2009 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Rollins officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 6, 2009 from 4 to 6 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Wadsworth was born January 8, 1926 in LaGrange, GA son of the late Lawrence F. Wadsworth and Mary Salmon Wadsworth. He retired from WRBL and WLTZ as a television engineer. He was a founding member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church which later became St. Peter United Methodist Church. More than anything, he loved his family and enjoyed the yearly family reunions and outings with his brothers and sisters. He was a member of the United States Army and was proud to say he was a WWII Veteran. Among his hobbies were hand-crafting furniture in his wood shop that he and his family built and swimming in his pool. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jo Alger, and brothers, Leroy, Lamar, and Larry Wadsworth.
