Billy Norman Shoemake, 66 of Phenix City, AL died Sunday, August 18, 2013 at his residence.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 2:30 P.M., Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. David Keys officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery according to Colonial Funeral Home, 613 14th St. Phenix City, AL.
Mr. Shoemake was born November 17, 1946 in Troup County, Georgia son of the late Alma and Herbert Shoemake. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He was a Baptist by faith. He enjoyed reading and sitting on his front porch watching the world go by.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Pete Sanders.
Survivors include his daughter, B.J. Thompson and husband Brian of Phenix City, AL; step daughter, Penny Holzapfel and husband John of Phenix City, AL; sisters, Jo Perkins and husband Johnny and Sarah Reynolds and husband Dalton all of Carrolton, GA; grandchildren, Meagan, Jacob, Noah, Jesse, Luke, Serenity and Gabby.
