Billy Wayne Dykes, 52 of Columbus died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M., Friday, August 31, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Garrett officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Dykes was born September 8, 1959 in Columbus, GA son of the late Myra Jean Currie Dykes and William Burnice Dykes. He was a plumber and attended Dayspring Community Church.
Survivors include his sisters, Debbie Kutulas and Pam Merritt (Paul) all of Columbus, GA; brother, Jimmy Dykes (Mary) of Waverly Hall, GA; nieces and nephews, Tina Grimshaw (Curtis), Steve Martin (Stephanie), Angel Johnson (D.J.), April Merritt (Chris), Drew Merritt, Brianna Merritt, Carlyn Merritt, Vanessia Sharpe and Kelsey Serna; great nieces and nephews, Kira, Payton, Meadow, Caleb, Lexi, Junior, Kaitlyn and Layla; his dachshund Sam.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1382, Columbus, GA 31902.
