Beverly Jean "Bev" Seifert

Beverly Jean Seifert, affectionately known as Bev, passed away on July 12, 2020, in Columbus, Georgia, after a long bout with kidney disease. Born on March 27, 1932, in Northampton, Massachusetts, Bev was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. Her laughter and creativity left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family, friends, and community.

Bev was the cherished wife of Louis Seifert. She was a loving mother to her sons, Keith Seifert (Dana), Kenny Kubera, and Louis Seifert (Terry), and a devoted mother-in-law to Peter Kolvig.

Her legacy continues through her granddaughters, Haley Mann (David), Katrina O’Bryan (Stacy), Keira Oliver (Robert), and Devyn Wilson (Logan); grandsons, Dale Kolvig (Holly), Keith Kolvig, Lance, and Shaun Seifert; as well as her twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her stories, values, and memories. Beverly was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Williams, step-mother, Gladys Williams, brother, Eugene Williams, and her beloved daughter, Madolin Kolvig.

A proud graduate of the Real Estate Academy in 1979, Bev went on to earn the designation of Graduate, Realtor's Institute in 1987. She thrived in residential sales for 18 years in Coweta County and was honored as Realtor of the Year in 1990. Her dedication to her profession was evident as she served as State Director of the Georgia Association of Realtors from 1987 to 1991 and was integral in organizing the Coweta Women's Council of Realtors. She led with grace and efficiency, taking on roles such as President, Vice-President, Secretary, and chairperson for various committees. Bev's successful career was highlighted by her numerous recognitions as Million Dollar Agent and 2 Million Dollar Agent in 1988, reflecting her unwavering commitment and skill in her field.

Bev's passion for community service was unparalleled. She was an engaged member of the Newnan Chamber of Commerce, served as the hospitality chair-person for Manget-Brannon Center for the Arts, and was a proud member of the American Business Women's Association and the Historical Society. Her volunteer work with the March of Dimes through WalkAmerica and her time as a mentor at Northside Elementary School showcased her dedication to making a difference. Beverly and her husband Cy were long-time members of the Grace Community Fellowship Church, where they shared their faith and compassion with their spiritual family.

An avid gardener, Bev found peace and contentment in the beauty of nature. Her love for antiquing spoke to her appreciation for history and storytelling, while her love for reading allowed her to explore worlds beyond her own. Traveling, especially trips to the beach, was a source of joy and relaxation for Bev, providing cherished memories with family and friends.

Known for her quick wit and humorous spirit, Bev had the unique ability to find humor in the everyday. Bev's creativity shone through in everything she did, from her career achievements to her hobbies and community involvement.Her presence is deeply missed, but her spirit will forever inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate the lives of Beverly and Cy Seifert on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Grace Community Fellowship located at 75 Roscoe Road Newnan, Georgia.  The service will begin at 11:00 am under the direction of Pastor Carl Green.  The family would like to thank the staff of Columbus Hospice of Columbus Georgia and Dr. William LaHouse for their care of Mrs. Beverly Seifert.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Columbus Hospice at https://www.columbushospice.com/donate.
