Beverly Parker Shirah, 73, of Phenix City, AL died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 12:30 P.M., Saturday, February 16, 2013 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA with Rev. Grant Parker and Rev. Randy Comer officiating. A private interment will be held at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Shirah was born March 30, 1939 in Phenix City, Alabama daughter of the late Isom Coleman Parker and Willie Lee Hall Parker. She was the District Chief Clerk for Southern Bell and had also worked as a secretary for the many churches her husband ministered to. She was a member of Watoola United Methodist Church.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Connie Coleman Parker.
Survivors include her husband Rev. Hugh Shirah of Phenix City, AL; daughter, LeAnn Shirah Best husband David of Smiths Station, AL; son, Hudson Edward (Eddie) Shirah and wife Kristi Lynn of Lebannon, TN; six grandchildren; brothers, Frank Eugene Parker and wife Janis of Trussville, AL and Charles Harrison Parker and wife Gladys of Florence, AL and sister, Barbara Parker Downing and husband Hudson of Phenix City, AL.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Methodist Childrens Home, P. O. Box 2525, Macon, GA 31203.
