Betty was born November 12, 1947, in El Paso, TX, to the late Voncille and John Goudeau. Betty lived a life marked by kindness, a flair for friendship, and a deep love for her family and the many lives she touched.

Betty's journey began in El Paso, TX, where she completed her high school education before pursuing further studies at Chattahoochee Valley College. There, she earned her Associate’s Degree, which paved the way for a successful career. She started her career at the District Attorney’s office in Columbus, Georgia as an investigator and then worked at CB&T to oversee the Security, Recovery and Collections Department. Betty also dedicated many years to Kinetic Credit Union, where she retired as Vice President of Lending and Training. Her experience with collections, fraud and robbery were key to her successful career and allowed her to showcase her keen eye for detail and her unwavering integrity.  Betty was greatly respected for her knowledge and work ethic.  After retirement, Betty worked for Silver Service where she not only helped with estate sales but also assisted with helping individuals transition from home to assisted living which was testament to Betty’s compassion.

Throughout her life, Betty's interests painted a picture of a woman who found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid Georgia football fan, bringing enthusiasm and spirit to game days. She spent many game days with Glen and Cynthia Coleman at the “Coleman Resort”. Her love for the Hallmark Channel was a testament to her romantic spirit and fondness for heartwarming tales. Betty's passion for flowers and gardening could be seen in the beautiful array of blooms that surrounded her home, a reflection of the beauty she cultivated in her life and in the lives of those around her.

Betty's love was all-encompassing, but it shone brightest when it came to her beloved family. She was a pillar of strength and affection for her husband, Frank Lamar Thomas. Betty leaves behind her two sons Chris Thomas (Kathryn), Raymond Thomas (Christina), along with their adored grandchildren, Zoie Thomas, Naomi Thomas, and Nehemiah Thomas who filled her days with laughter and purpose. Betty had a very large extended family and she loved each and every one of them. Betty was known for being a classy dresser, always presenting herself with elegance and grace that mirrored the beauty of her character.

Her best girlfriends Arletta Merklin, Cindy Haynes, and Beth Moss were beside her through all the great adventures and hardships.  They shared many laughs, tears and Peach Bellini’s. These ladies’ friendship meant the world to Betty.

Her community spirit was evident in her commitment to volunteering at Animal Ark Rescue, where she donated her time and heart to animals in need. This generosity was just one facet of Betty's immense capacity to care, which she extended to everyone she met.

Family members will remember Betty as a beacon of love and kindness. Her grandchildren, in particular, will hold dear the memories of their grandmother's warmth, the stories she shared, and the lessons of compassion she imparted. Betty's presence was a gift, her friendship a treasure, and her memory a legacy that will continue to inspire.
