Betty S. Smith, 77, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 15, 2019 at Gentian Baptist Church 3853 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. David Hartwick officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church.
Mrs. Smith was born October 3, 1942 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Walter Leonard Simons and Mae Coody Simons. She was a homemaker and a member of Gentian Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence Smith, daughters, Tina Peoples and Rene Bass, sons, Timothy Hurst and Steve Chalkey all of Columbus, GA, step-children, Diane Davis, Fred Nixon, Barbara Clark and Robert Smith, siblings, Al "Bunky" Simons, Bennie Simons, and Rudy Simons, 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
