Betty Joyce Creel Shepherd, 88, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at her home.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 25, 2019 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Chaplain Kenneth W. Wilcox officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Shepherd was born May 9, 1931 in Phenix City, AL daughter of the late George Washington Creel and Sarah Ozell Bates. She was a homemaker and an avid volunteer in the community. She loved the beach, horseback riding, crocheting and knitting, her birds, and bowling. Mrs. Shepherd was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, aunt, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Hall and her second husband, Chuck Board.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Shepherd, children, Connie Sparks, Randy Hall, Linda Getty and Sherry Board, sister, JoAnn McDowell, grandchildren, Ryan Hall, Stephen Sparks, Emily Taylor, Megan McMahon and William Getty, III, great-granddaughter, Sarah Hall, nieces and nephews, Wayne Martin, Mike Martin, Lisa Allen, Sheila Rovig, step-children, Sue Goldman, Jen Edsell and Chris Nisbet, step-grandchildren, Anna Rose Goldman, Liam Goldman, Harry Goldman, Luke Durkin, Sam Nisbet and Cole Edsell.
