Betty Purvis Sawyer

Betty Purvis Sawyer, 91, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, February 10, 2024 at her residence.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Mt. Nebo Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery (Bloodworth Cemetery), 1062 Ed Davis Rd. Mauk, GA 31058, with Scott Sawyer officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Sawyer was born March 12, 1932 in Taylor County, GA, daughter of the late Walter and Dora Weeks Purvis.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Ronald E. Sawyer of Columbus, GA; sons, John E. Sawyer of Wiscasset, ME, Robert W. Sawyer of Long Beach, CA; brother-in-law, Mike Sawyer of Harris County, GA; sister-in-law, Judy Sawyer of Tampa, FL; numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
