Betty Jean Rouse, 78, of Columbus died Saturday, October 09, 2010 at the Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Monday, October 11, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA with Rev. Josh Rouse and Rev. Vern Jordin officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rouse was born September 13, 1932 in China Grove, AL daughter of the late Adele Edwards Harp and Morgan Harp. She was a homemaker and a school crossing guard. She also attended All Saints Presbyterian Church. Her family was the center of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph R. Rouse, Sr. and siblings, Oree Harp, Lucille Harp Avery, Ruth Harp and Wendell Harp.
Survivors include her children, Joseph Rouse, Jr. (Debra) of Fortson, GA, Janie Fuller (Dozier, III) and Rick Rouse (Barbara) all of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Joy Collins, Beth Fuller, Josh Rouse, Nathan Rouse and Kate Rouse; great grandchildren, Will Collins, Layne Rouse, Jonas Rouse, Lucy Rouse and Penny Rouse and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 1959 Hamilton Rd., Columbus, GA 31904.
