Betty Joyce Chambers Montgomery, 86, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Orchard View Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, October 23, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Roy White officiating. A private interment will be held at Riverdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Ms. Montgomery was born November 5, 1928 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Seaborn Wright Chambers and Nona Mae Franklin Chambers. She retired as a Supervisor with McCracklin Industries in Conley, GA and was a Baptist by faith.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and three brothers.
Survivors include her daughters, Peggy Gray (Wiley) of Columbus, GA and Betty M. Strange of Covington, GA, three grandchildren, Kelly Morgan (Garris), Tiffany Calhoun (Scott) and Kevin C. Strange, four great grandchildren, Kyle Morgan, Avery Morgan, Helen Calhoun and Emma Calhoun, several cousins, and one uncle.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Gentiva Hospice 100 Brookstone Centre Parkway Columbus, GA 31904 or to the Gardens at Calvary 7595 Moon Rd. Columbus, GA 31909.
