Betty Delores Jordan Lybrand, 84, of Midland, GA died Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Gentiva Hospice.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery with Rev. Mitch Huling officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Lybrand was born April 30, 1932 in Charlotte, NC, daughter of the late William Cyrus Jordan and Ruth Panel Jordan. She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. She was an advocate for the March of Dimes where she was a former officer. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, dancing and entertaining. We will always cherish her fond memories in our hearts.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, LTC Ret. James Eugene Lybrand, 2 brothers, Robert Jordan and Lee Jordan and a sister, Wilma Rick.
Survivors include her daughters, Catherine Paige Thomasson (CSM Ret. Bruce) and Carolyn Sue Tatum (LTC Ret. Randy), grandchildren, J.P. Williams (Lisa), Michelle Williams, Maj. James L. Thomasson (Jessica), Bryan Thomasson, Kristine Wiegand (Brad) and Samantha Tatum, and 7 great grandchildren. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love and light of her life.
