Betty P. Kelly, 88 of Columbus, GA died Monday, December 31, 2012 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 4, 2013 at Wynnbrook Baptist Church, 500 River Knoll Way, Columbus, GA with Dr. Geoff Hammond and Dr. Kevin Calhoun officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Kelly was born September 20, 1924 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Hazel Bell Ponder and William Joseph Ponder. She retired from a Civil Service career at Fort Benning. After retiring she sold real estate in the Columbus area. A member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church, Mrs. Kelly was also involved in many other club and organizations in Columbus. She was an avid dancer, golfer and an accomplished bridge player.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard E. (R.E.) Kelly.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Kelly of Columbus, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Wynnbrook Baptist Church, Music Fund, 500 River Knoll Way, Columbus, GA 31904.
