Betty Joan Stalcup DeCarlo of Ellerslie, GA died Friday, January 11, 2019 at Brookside Glenn in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Cornerstone Baptist Church 16117 GA-315, Ellerslie, GA 31807 with Dr. Tommy Henschel officiating. Interment will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 15,2019 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Betty DeCarlo was born December 2, 1938 in Athens, TN daughter of the late Gene Samuel and Velma Roderick Stalcup. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and retired as a Medical Stenographer at Martin Army Community Hospital.
Betty was an avid reader and enjoyed trivia. She was very artistic and was adept at drawing and sculpting. Her other hobbies included dancing, archery, and horseback riding. Betty was a devout Christian and loved living life to the fullest.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jamie Rene Carroll and a grandson, Anderson Carroll.
Survivors include her loving husband of 51 years, Dominick Joseph DeCarlo, Jr., son, Joseph Daniel DeCarlo (Joyce) of Powder Springs, GA, sister, Linda Stalcup Brown (Frank) of Murfreesboro, TN, grandchildren, Savannah Leigh DeCarlo of Columbus, GA, Joseph Daniel DeCarlo, Jr., of Powder Springs, GA, special close friends, Carol Ried of Ellerslie, GA, Elaine Payne of Cataula, GA, special friend and caregiver, Cynthia Ellison of Columbus, GA.
