Betty Jean Cosby 86, of Columbus, GA. died Friday, January 01, 2021 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 07, 2021 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Glen Presley officiating. Interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.  Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, we encourage everyone to make the best decisions to remain safe. If anyone wishes to attend the graveside service, please remember to remain 6 feet apart from those not in your household and wear personal protective equipment.

Mrs. Cosby was born April 14, 1934 in Isabella, TN., daughter of the late Addist Delmar and Birdie Walden Gilbert. She retired after 34 years as a Textile worker working 15 years at Muscogee Mills and 19 years at Columbus Carpet Mill. Mrs. Cosby love cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of New Vision Christian Ministries in Waverly Hall, Ga.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Wayne Cosby, daughter, Charlotte McDaniel Stone Pope, and her sisters Doris Joan Redden, Shirley Jane Carroll, and Brenda Gail Kruger.

Survivors include her daughter, Brenda McDaniel Smith (Charlie "Bo"), son, Glen McDaniel (Melinda), sisters, Nina June Carroll, Bobbie Sue Pierson, brother, John Bennie Gilbert, son-in-law, Dan Pope, 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great -great grandchildren. She is also survived by her step children, Larry Cosby, Mike Cosby, Richie Cosby (Tara) and their 4 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
