Bessie Dean Webb, 93, of Douglasville, GA passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at her home.
A private graveside service will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, AL according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Webb was born April 11, 1925 in Anniston, AL daughter of the late James Wesley Stancil and Bell Green Stancil. She was the youngest of 9 children; 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Mrs. Webb was a devoted wife to 1st SGT. RC Webb and was a full-time homemaker. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was famous for her made-from-scratch biscuits.
She loved cross stitching, dancing, singing, growing flowers or just relaxing in her swing or relaxing outdoors.
Later in life, she and her husband enjoyed going to Biloxi to play "Wheel of Fortune" and "Black Jack".
Survivors include her 3 children, Shirley Webb Lilly of Douglasville, GA, Howard Webb (Beverly) of Fortson, GA and Deborah Webb Knighton (Wayne) of Columbus, GA, 5 grandchildren, Kenneth Webb (Tamara) of Fortson, GA, Jeffrey Wilbourn (Brandy) of Douglasville, GA, Gregory Wilbourn (Kia) of Charlotte, NC, Christopher Lilly (Ashley) of Douglasville, GA and Amanda Knighton Edge (Ben) of Columbus, GA, 9 great-grandchildren, Connor, Cara, Reagan, Ryan, Griffin, Amber, Mason, Jayden and Emma, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association 5156 River Rd. M Columbus, GA 31904 or to your favorite charity.
