Bertha Lee Johnson, 86, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Grace Baptist Church, located at 2915 14th Ave., Columbus, GA 31904 with Rev. Seth Hon officiating. The family will receive friends one
hour before the service at the church. Interment will be held at Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Pensacola, FL.
Mrs. Johnson was born August 26, 1931 in Pensacola, FL to the late John and Ida Hawkins Lewis. She was the co-owner with her husband at B&J Restaurant and Bay Grove Restaurant. Later, she worked at various gift shops including one at the Columbus Airport. Mrs. Johnson faithfully attended Grace Baptist Church when her health allowed. In addition to being a gracious hostess, Mrs. Johnson enjoyed sewing and participating in a quilting group.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Clifton Johnson, and an infant daughter.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Acree (Robert) of Columbus, GA, 5 grandchildren, Seth Acree (Melissa), Elizabeth Wilt (David), Jennifer Miller (Greg), Rachel Acree and Rebecca Acree, 9 great grandchildren, 2 nephews and 1 cousin.
