Bernice Ragain Young

Bernice Ragain Young, 98, of Cataula, GA passed away peacefully at her residence on November 22, 2023.
Bernice was born January 23, 1925 in Grantsburg, IL to the late George Ragain and Grace Jennings Ragain and was the youngest of 11 children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She always brought joy and happiness to those around her and loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Robert Emmett Young and her daughter, Nancy Jo Stephens.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Lynn Jones of Columbus, GA, Donna Rae Garver of Cataula GA, son, James Robert Young (Kelly) of Cary, NC, grandchildren, Kelly Allford, Tracy Kraft, Jeffery Garver (Marissa), Lauren Garver, Jenna Kennedy (James), Ashlyn Young (Aaron), and Kayla Sasser (Tim). She also has 9 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, December 1, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga. A private interment will be held at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.
