Bernice Livingston Henderson, 89, of Columbus died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday April 28, 2014 at Benning Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Van Dyke officiating. Burial will follow at Ft. Benning Cemetery, Main Post. Visitation will be held 4-6 PM Sunday April 27, 2014 at the McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Bernice was born October 20, 1924 in Towns, GA. the daughter of the late James Thad Livingston and Lillie Crapps Livingston. During WWII she was part of the war effort working in the ship yard and airplane production. This is where she met her late husband, Robyn P. Henderson, Sr. They were married for 56 years before his death in 2000. She was a homemaker, and charter member of Benning Hills Baptist Church where she served numerous roles through the years.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Herrin (David) of Longwood, FL., sons, Robyn "Bob" Henderson, Jr. (Ginny) of Loganville, GA., Rayford Henderson of Douglasville, GA., Glenn Henderson of Honolulu, Hawaii, grandchildren Cindy Braun (Ken), Robyn P. Henderson, III (Robin), Lindsey Henderson, Kellyn Henderson, Christina Young, John Young and great grandchildren, Jared Braun, Ansley Braun and Aiden Young. She is also survived by Earl Stonecypher (Brother-in-law) nieces Susan Brown, Cynthia Graves, Thelma Kratz and Dayle Ford, Patty Dockery, Lori McDaniel, Windy Shumate & nephews Leland Stonecypher and Arthur Graves, Jr..
