Benny Dean Shellhouse, 69, of Columbus, GA was promoted to glory on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at his residence.
A memorial service will be held 2 PM October 10, 2009 at the Salvation Army Chapel on Warm Springs Rd. with Chaplain Captain Art Fultz officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Shellhouse was born August 19, 1940 in Cuthbert, GA to the late Leonard George Shellhouse and Marie Bartlett Shellhouse. He was a security guard for Defender Services in Columbus. He was a member of the Salvation Army Mens Club and attended the church there. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Shellhouse was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Joe Shellhouse and Larry Wayne Shellhouse.
Survivors include his wife, Marie M. Shellhouse of Columbus, GA, sons, Marvin J. Shellhouse and Dennis Shellhouse both of Germany, daughter, Angela Gleason (Bryan), son, Bobby Trivett (Sue) both of Columbus, GA, step son, Christopher Jones (Mary) of Byron, GA, sisters, Sarah Ellen Dykes of Rome, GA, Donna Faye Spires (Wayne) of Wetumpka, AL, Alice Marie Palmer of Louisville, KY, and Elizabeth Ann Jones (Chuck) of Florence, KY, seven grandchildren, a long lasting friend, Brenda White, and several nieces and nephews.
