Beauford E. Luttrell

Beauford E. "Mickey" Luttrell, Jr., 82, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Pastor Judy Hay officiating. A private family interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Luttrell was born November 4, 1933 in Columbus, GA son of the late Beauford E. Luttrell, Sr. and Ruth Whitten Luttrell. He retired as a Salesman for W.P. Ballard and was a member of Sherwood Presbyterian Church. Mr. Luttrell was an accomplished musician for 65 years as a member of the Cavalier Orchestra and the Bob Barr Community Band.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles F. Luttrell.
Survivors include his loving wife, Peggy Reese Luttrell, daughters, Susan L. Scott (Jim) and Sheri D. Luttrell, Tony Humphries, grandchildren, James F. Scott, III (Jeannine), Anthony Shane Humphries (Cara) and Jamie F. DeShong (Josh), great grandchildren, Reese Humphries, Taryn Humphries, Addison Humphries, Mack Scott and Buckley Scott, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital 5901 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd. Atlanta, GA 30328.
