Barbara Booth Powers, 75, of Phenix City, AL died Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Canterbury Nursing Facility.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Chuck Griffith and Rev. Mike McBride officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Powers was born February 27, 1942 in McKenzie, TN daughter of the late Burnis Owen Booth, Sr. and Dorothy Givens Booth. She earned her Master's Degree from Auburn University and worked over 35 years as a Teacher for the Phenix City Public School System. Mrs. Powers was a member of Trinity Assembly of God church where she was a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include her loving husband, William "Bill" Powers of Phenix City, AL, daughter, Andrea Shirley (Kevin) of Columbus, GA, sons, Scott Powers (Allison) of Alpharetta, GA, Chad Powers (Sharon) and Chip Powers all of Phenix City, AL, brother, Bo Booth (Beverley) of Dyer, TN, and grandchildren, Ashton Powers, Katie Powers both of Alpharetta, GA, Clayton Shirley and Railey Shirley both of Columbus, GA.
