Barbara Jo Kekaualua, 59, of Fortson, GA died peacefully Thursday, October 13, 2016 surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 17, 2016 at Cascade Hills 727 54th St. Columbus, GA 31904. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Barbara was born July 16, 1957 in Fort Polk, LA daughter of the late Willard Dale Roy and Madalyn Gower Roy and Joseph Kekaualua, Jr. She graduated from Kendrick High School in 1975 and was a devoted employee for 40 years for the Social Security Administration. She was a cancer survivor and was a member of the non-profit gynecological organization, "Southern Teal". Barbara also hosted a New Year's Day party every year for the community. She also loved the Georgia Bulldogs and Hawaii.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Kekaualua, III of Fortson, GA, son, Joseph Kekaualua, IV of Fortson, GA, daughter, Jamie Hall (Griffin) of Atlanta, GA, mother, Evangeline Kekaualua of Columbus, GA, siblings, William Roy (Karen) of Parrish, FL, Lynda Temples (Michael) of Midland, GA, Willard Roy of Huntington, WV, Robert Roy (Angela) of Liberty Township, OH, Jo Jo Hudoba (Frank) of Woodbridge, VA, Debbie Weaverling (Ron) of Lansing, KS and Sweets Benefield of Columbus, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Southern Teal Organization 1152 Laurelwood Rd. Columbus, GA 31904.
