Barbara Jones

Barbara R. Jones, 87, of Cataula, GA died February 18, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 12, 1934 to George and Ruby Robertson.

Services will be held Monday, February 21, 2022 11:00AM in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 20, 2022 4:00- 6:00PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Roddie G. Jones, son Paul Uptain, daughter Nancy Shepler, infant twin daughters Theressa and Vanessa Uptain, sister Virginia Mobley, brother Alan Robertson, great grandson Will Lefcourt and great granddaughter Kyliegh Keith.

Barbara retired from AT&T with 38 years of service. She was a member of the Harris County Chapter of American Business Women’s Association, Columbus Council Telephone Pioneers and the VFW Auxiliary. After retirement she also served as bailiff for the Harris County Sheriff Department.

She enjoyed and prioritized family events to include attending graduations and school and athletics activities of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Other interests and passions included thrifting, shopping, a good bargain, playing poker with friends, visiting casinos and watching sports, especially the Atlanta Braves and Alabama football, and college basketball.

Left to cherish and honor her are daughters, Beverly Deems (Mike) of Cataula, GA, Carmela Uptain of Adams, WI, Pam Lanford (Steve) of Toney, AL, sister Janet Jones of Panama City FL, brother Danny Robertson of Toney, AL, numerous other family members and friends.

Flowers will be accepted or donate to the Harris County Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association, Columbus Council Telephone Pioneers or Harris County VFW Auxiliary.
