Barbara Jeannette Ray, 86, of Peachtree City, GA died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Doctor's Hospice in Fayetteville, GA.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kevin Calhoun officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.

Mrs. Ray was born August 26, 1926 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late James Thomas Clarke and Vita Connell Clarke. She was the Assistant Vice President of First National Bank. She retired after 37 years of service with the bank. She was the Manager at the North Columbus Branch, assuming this position in January of 1978. Prior to assuming the managership at North Columbus, Barbara was Assistant Manager of the Columbus Square Branch. During her 37 year career with First National, she held many positions throughout the bank. She was elected an Officer of the bank in January of 1972. She was a graduate of Jordan High School and a member of Morningside Baptist Church and the American Institute of Banking.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Lester Ray.

Survivors include her daughters, Becky Ray Hahn (Ray) of Franklin, TN, Babs Oglesby (Wills) of Nashville, TN, and Kay Bailey (Henry) of Peachtree City, GA; brother, Billy Clarke (Barbara) of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Stacy Johnson (Bill) of Nashville, TN, Brandi Deas (Brad) of Christiana, TN, Rhett Fordham (Katie) of Franklin, TN, Candace Peppers (Don) of Hendersonville, TN, Rusty Fordham of Nashville, TN, Carson McRae of Granite Fall, NC, David Oglesby, Stephanie Hahn and Mary Beth Oglesby all of Nashville, TN, Clay Bailey of Atlanta, GA, Kent Bailey of Atlanta,GA and Corey Bailey of Starkesville, MS; great grandchildren, William and Sam Johnson, Jackson and Lilly Cunningham, Cambell, Cooper, and Tucker Deas, Kaylee, Tayler and Berkley McRae and Larkin, Maggie and Kade Fordham.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of your choice or your favorite charity.
