Barbara Fountain, 76, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, November 1, 2012 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Central Baptist Church 8303 Whitesville Rd. Columbus, GA 31904 with her son, Reverend Tommy Fountain, Sr. officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Fountain was born September 1, 1936 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Clyde C. Brock and Annie F. Tucker King. She retired from the Medical Center as a unit secretary and was Baptist by faith. She was raised by her grandparents and the Tucker family.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Buford Earl Fountain, her son, Mike Earl Fountain, Sr., son-in-law, Jerome Hutto, great granddaughter, Scarlet Fountain, brothers, Millard Brock and Emanuel King, and sister, Margaret Swain.
Survivors include her children, Jerry Fountain (Nancy) of Cataula, GA, Reverend Tommy Fountain, Sr. (Dianne) of Winder, GA, Mark Fountain (Lisa) and Cindy Fountain Hutto all of Columbus, GA, sister, Francis Ruth Tilley of Nashville, TN, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and numerous other family members.
The family would like to thank the staff of Columbus Hospice for their love and care.
