Barbara Ann Crowell, 64 of Columbus, GA died Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Columbus Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held 7:00 P.M., Friday, September 14, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Judy Hay officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Barbara was born March 31, 1948 in Wardell, MO daughter of the late Barney Rufus Twitty and Geneva Nall Twitty. She was the Assistant Deputy Tax Commissioner for Muscogee County and a member of Cascade Hills Church. She was a devoted mother, loyal friend; avid reader and traveler who loved butterflies. She loved going to live theater, movies and concerts. She also loved playing the penny slot machines and the ocean.
Survivors include daughters, Melissa Ann Proctor (Kevin) of Fredericks, VA and Stacey Wilson of Columbus, GA; brother, Tommy Twitty (Lynn) of Augusta, GA; father of her children, Dewayne Crowell of Leesville, LA; grandchildren, Christopher Proctor, Jennifer Proctor, Jordan Proctor, Britney Wilson and Taylor Wilson; great grandchildren, Payton Stambaugh, Sean Proctor and Jackson Stambaugh.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to John B. Amos Cancer Center, 1831 5th Ave., Columbus, GA 31904.
