Barbara Ann Cone, 82, of Columbus, GA, died October 12, 2024 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church 1232 Double Churches Rd. Columbus, GA. A private interment will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Barbara was born on April 14, 1942 to the late Hugh George Cone and Eunice Watkins Cone. After her sister’s untimely passing in 1942 followed by her mother’s death in 1944, Barbara and her brother Billy were raised by their loving aunt and uncle, Thelma Watkins Land and Ellis Brooks Land. Barbara was a devoted homemaker and caretaker for several family members and friends in the Double Churches community. Barbara loved her church, her brother Billy, and her many friends and extended family. She also had a fond love for animals.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Betty Louise Cone, and brother, William “Billy” Alfred Cone.
She is survived by many cousins and devoted friends who were like family to her.
