Arthur G. Wells, Sr., 81, of Hamilton, GA died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church with The Reverend Matthew Grunfeld officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Wells was born August 22, 1931 in Chattahoochee County, GA son of the late Arthur Peter Wells and Sadie Mae Gilbert Wells. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict and was the Owner of Wells Steel Company. He was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and a leader of the Brotherhood of St. Andrews.
Survivors include his wife, Jewel Wallace Wells of Hamilton, GA, children, Carol Wells Grunfeld (David) of Oxford, AL, Arthur Gene Wells, Jr. (Christy) of Columbus, GA, Linda Joy Wells of Hamilton, GA and Joseph B. Wells of Hamilton, GA, nephews, Charles Stevens of Atlanta, GA and Bobby Stevens of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Arthur G. Wells, III "Trey", Matthew Grunfeld, Shannon Jewel Wells and Joseph B. Wells, Jr., and great granddaughter, Aubrey Brooklyn Wells.
