Arlene Marjorie Austin, 67, of Midland, GA died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Columbus Hospice House.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 12 noon Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at North Highland Assembly of God 7300 Whittlesey Blvd. Columbus, GA 31909 with Reverend Dennis Lacy officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Austin was born April 27, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Gandalfo Governale. She was a paralegal assistant for Page/Scrantom/Sprouse/Tucker/Ford, and she attended North Highland Assembly of God for 20 years.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Wallace Clint Austin.
Survivors include her husband, Clinton Ray Austin of Midland, GA, two daughters, Pamela L. Barnaby (Craig) of Alpharetta, GA and Brenda J. Austin of Casper, WY, son, Darrin C. Austin of Smyrna, GA, two sisters, Linda Castiglione (Dan) of McDonough, GA and Gloria Splendoro of Statesville, NC, brother, Joseph Governale of Inverness, FL, granddaughter, Madison Barnaby of Alpharetta, GA, mother-in-law, Ineta Jewell Austin of Columbus, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Teen Challenge Global P.O. Box 511 Columbus, GA 31902.
