Anne Rich Thomas

Anne Rich Thomas, 89, died Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Columbus Hospice House. Her death was from complications after a fall.

A graveside service conducted by the Reverend David Mills, pastor of Beallwood Baptist Church, will be Friday, September 13, 2024, 11am EDT, at Riverdale Cemetery.

Anne was born June 17, 1935, to the late George B. and Annie Lou Dunn Rich. She attended Columbus High School and Mercer University. She worked part-time as a church musician for three decades. Her full-time career for 19 years was with the Columbus Consolidated Government.

Anne was predeceased by her sister, Sue Rich Clarke. She is survived by her sister Nell Rich Brannon and her husband Wayne of Mobile, AL; two sons, Fred Thomas and his wife Sheila of Franklin, GA, and Timothy Rich Thomas and his partner, Richard Hatfield of Columbus; two granddaughters, Amy Thomas and her spouse Ashley Miller Thomas of Raleigh, NC, and Katie Thomas Veal and her husband Brian and their children Ryan, Nathan, Caiden and Reagan of Franklin, GA; a devoted, caring friend of many years, Carletha Taylor, and recently a thoughtful, kind friend, TK Aman.
