Anne Veazey LeCraw was born in Tampa, Florida on October 19, 1929, the second and last child of Sarah Cameron LeCraw and Ralph Veazey LeCraw. When Anne was small, her family moved to Atlanta.
Anne studied dance for many years, graduated from North Fulton High School in 1945, and then attended the University of Georgia.

At 18, Anne met Joseph Walker Joines on a blind date. Sparks led to wedding bells. On July 28, 1950, the couple married at the First Presbyterian Church in Columbus. A year later, a daughter was born, then after that four boys, three of whom survived. Anne was a dedicated mother, and later a dedicated volunteer, serving many years with Contact and other service organizations.

Several close friends were contacted and were able to say their goodbyes in person or by phone.

AFter visiting with her friends, Anne seemed to be involved in an intense communication with someone who was above and around her. Vistacare chaplain, Bill Mayhew, explained that was probably being prepared. He quoted Hebrews 12:1 "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses....let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."

On Friday night, December 23, 2011, Anne LeCraw Joines, 82, died peacefully in her sleep at her residence.

Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend John Boyer officiating. The family will recieve friends Monday, December 26, 2011 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
