Angela Spradley, 92 of Columbus, GA died Wednesday July 19, 2023 with her family by her side.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 24, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, with the Pastor Ed Rollins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd Columbus, GA 31907. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery.
Mrs. Spradley was born August 9, 1930 in Ulm Germany, daughter of the late Franz and Anna Wilpert.
Mrs. Spradley met and fell in love with a young soldier at the NCO club in Ulm Germany, Daniel Spradley. They were married July 2, 1956. As a military wife the family was constantly on the move from one military installation to another. She was a homemaker and raised three children. She retired as the manager of Pizza Square restaurant in Columbus, GA. In addition, Mrs. Spradley loved her family and friends. She loved to meet people and always treated everyone with kindness.She played a good game of cards and often beat her opponents. Her laughter was like a beautiful song and her wit was sharp and would often take you by surprise. She loved her flower garden, especially her roses and tended to them all the time. She will be missed by all who knew her, and if you knew her you always felt like you were blessed to know her, especially her children.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Spradley, her brothers, Alfred Wilpert, Wilhelm Ricker and George Ricker, nephew Peter Klaus and niece Deloris “Delo” Morris.
Survivors include her sisters, Ann Campbell, Castle Rock, CO, Rosemarie Kucey (John), Oceanside, CA, her son Dennis Spradley (Christa), Dacula, GA, her daughters, Darlene A. Spradley, Columbus, GA and Shirley Spradley, Columbus, GA, nieces Laura Dougan (Mike), Castle Rock, CO, Sabrina Frowiss, Silicon Valley, CA, cousin Christine Bennek, of Obertshausen, Germany, her children, Margarite “Marga” Bennek, of Muhlheim am Main,Germany, Erika Bennek and grandson, Pascal Bennek, of Obertshausen, Germany. She is also survived by a great niece and nephews. In addition she is survived by her furry and feathered grandbabies.
Flowers will be accepted, but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to a charity of their choice.
