Andrew Williams Pitts, Jr.

Andrew Williams Pitts Junior, 90, of Pittsview Alabama, passed away Friday.

Mr. Pitts was born in Columbus Georgia to Andrew Williams Pitts Sr. and Annie Stewart Pitts.

Mr. Pitts graduated from Pittsview high school and went on to attend Auburn University. He returned to Pittsview to join his father in the family businesses. In 1976, Mr. Pitts established Pitts Trailers, and today it is doing business worldwide. Mr. Pitts was a member of the United Methodist Church, Chairman of the Republican party of Russell County, and was a founding member of the Pittsview civic society. Mr. Pitts loved the Auburn Tigers and playing golf in his free time.

Survivors include his wife Jean Pitts, and three children Andrew Williams Pitts III, Fern Pitts Griffin, and Jeffery Beauregard Pitts. He has 7 grandchildren which include Isabella Pitts, Abigail Pitts, Missy Piper, Drew Pitts, Rossie Puzey, Lewis Pitts, and Raylin Beauchamp. One of Mr. Pitts’ favorite sayings, and he had many, was “the big cat don’t walk till’ just before day”. Mr. Pitts loved his church, his family, and his community.

The Graveside funeral service will be held at the Pittsview cemetery in Pittsview Alabama On Wednesday, the 21st of July at 11:30 PM EST. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pittsview Cemetery fund. This can be sent to the address P.O box 127 Pittsview Alabama, 36871.
