Andrew Thad Bell, 52, of Columbus, GA, died Sunday, March 4, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Asheville, North Carolina according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Bell was born June 9, 1965, in Sylva, NC. He was the son of the late Richard Bell and Annette Woody Bell. He was an Assistant District Attorney in Harris County, Hamilton, GA. Andy had recently received his Juris Doctorate from Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law and was so happy and fulfilled with his job in the District Attorney's Office. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, and had also earned a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his cousin Melanie Branton.
Survivors include his loving wife of 12 years, Nyla Parks Bell of Columbus, GA, a brother, Nicholas Bell (Candy) of Asheville, NC, a brother-in-law, Jason Parks (Patti) and niece, Rio of Watkinsville, GA, uncle and aunt Charles and Delight Branton of Durham, NC, a dear friend, Neal Van Hook (Elaine) of Pelzer, SC, and other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society 233 12th St. #710 Columbus, GA 31909 or to the American Heart Association 4747 Hamilton Rd. Suite D Columbus, GA 31904.
