Amelia Rogers Davis
November 13, 1929 — January 19, 2021
Amelia Rogers Davis, 91, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 22, 2021 at Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Brett Maddocks officiating, according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Amelia was born November 13, 1929 in Pulaski County, GA to Burel and Ida Rogers.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George S. Davis, son Barry R. Davis, sisters Wynelle McKinney, Lena Chance, Gedia Faircloth, Leo Bigby, brothers Ira Rogers and Cecil Rogers.
She is survived by a son, Alan G. Davis (Bunnie), grandsons Arthur G. Davis (Lucy) and Brian R. Davis, great granddaughter Amelia Grace Davis, brother Amos B. Rogers and numerous nieces and nephews.
She retired from the Ledger-Enquirer where she worked as a Proofreader and Ad Layout Technician. She attended St. Luke United Methodist Church. A special thank you to the staff at Brookside Glen for their dedicated care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer’s research.
