Alvin R. Jenkins
August 16, 1952 — July 2, 2020
Alvin R. Jenkins, Jr. "Big Al", 67, of Columbus, GA passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wanda and Alvin R. Jenkins, Sr. of Lapel, IN.
Survivors include his wife Kay Jenkins of Columbus, GA; his children Shane Allen and Misty Jenkins both of Columbus, GA; Jason (Aimee) Janney of Marietta, GA; Dexter (Natascha) Janney of West Point, KY; his brother William (Arline) Jenkins of Dayton, OH; and five grandchildren, Cody, Tucker, Reagan,Gracie and Samantha. He also had numerous nieces and nephews.
Al served in the United States Marine Corp and was a Vietnam Veteran. He retired from the City of Columbus from the Building and Inspections Division. He was a member Holy Family Catholic Church of Columbus, GA. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. If you knew Al you knew he had a larger than life personality and loved sharing stories.
Al will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date at Holy Family Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you make a donation to John B. Amos Cancer Center, Columbus, GA or The Sisters of Life, Yonkers, NY.
