Alma Tibbs Kitts, affectionately known as Queenie, 91, of Columbus, GA died Friday, May 19, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family and under the care of comfort keepers and Columbus Hospice.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 26, 2023 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. Ed Rollins officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, May 25, 2023 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Alma was born December 1, 1931 in Ceres, Virginia to the late Willis Perry Tibbs and Ella Mae Tibbs. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church and the Women’s Methodist Group. Alma was very dedicated in caring for her family, home and friends. Her favorite thing to do was to go shopping, can fresh vegetables, cook delicious meals for her family and spend time with her best friend Evelyn Hammett. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Joyce Kitts, brothers, Willis Tibbs, Jimmy Tibbs, Joe Tibbs, Dennis Tibbs, sisters, Katherine Dillow, Anna Wayne Thompson and Gladys Umbarger.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Milton Fay Kitts of Columbus, GA, sons, Ricky Kitts (Christine) of Columbus, GA, Alan Kitts (Jennifer) of Ellerslie, GA, daughter, Robin Lynn Enfinger (Jason) of Cataula, GA, brother, Larry Tibbs of Ceres, VA, twelve grandchildren, Jennifer Trippe, Ben Trippe, Brian Trippe, Lauren Segars (Jamie), Cody Enfinger, Austin Enfinger, Christopher Kitts (Jennifer), Jenna Cole (Seth), Nathan Kitts, Ricky Kitts, Jr. (Roxanne), Jesse Kitts (Angle), Keith Kitts and multiple of great grandchildren.
