Allan Mark Tilly, 62, of Columbus, GA passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2011 after a long, brave battle with pancreatic cancer.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Memorial Mausoleum in Parkhill Cemetery with Chaplain Mike Stewart officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Allan was born January 22, 1949 in Johnson City, TN to Jasper Alfred Tilly, Jr. and Marie Louise Antoinette Bramerel Tilly. In addition to his love of family, Allan had a love for going to Sebring, FL as often as he could for the 12 hours of Sebring Sports Car Race. He was also blessed with making many trips to his mother's home in Crozet, France overlooking Geneva, Switzerland. The mountains and sheer beauty of this part of the world were perhaps Allan's "heaven on earth". Allan was predeceased by his father, Jasper Alfred Tilly, Jr. and sister, Karen Tilly Jocallaz. Allan was a kind, humble, and generous man. He was a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Allan is survived by his dear mother, Marie L. Tilly, his wonderful daughter, Ann Marie Sanders (Ronnie) who meant the world to him, two adorable grandchildren, Trey and Lily (Pepe' will always love you), his sisters, Francine T. Elmore (Grady) and Lisa Claire Tilly, a niece, Kimberly A. Taylor and a nephew, Grady S. Elmore, III.
