Alice Janice "Neecee" Slaughter, 77, of Columbus, GA died Monday, February 24, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 27, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Pastor Dennis Lacy officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Slaughter was born October 3, 1936 in Fortson, GA, daughter of the late Charlie William Cotton and Georgia Alice Colwell. She was a member of the Salvation Army and was Methodist by faith. Mrs. Slaughter was the owner of Armour Rd. Childcare for over 25 years.
Survivors include her husband, Byrl T. Slaughter; son, Stephen Slaughter (Jennifer); brothers, Charles Cotton, Jack Cotton (Jean), Donald Norman (Linda), Olin Norman, Jr. (Margaret); sisters, Lois Collins, and Patricia Napier; sister-in-law, Jeanine Cotton; and three grandchildren, R.E.L. Phillips, Aryana Slaughter, and Ethan Slaughter; one great-grandchild, Mary Jane Phillips; and numerous nieces and nephews.
