Albert Whitehead, 74, of Hamilton, GA, died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral Services with Fire Department Honors will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 21, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Vernon Prather officiating. A private interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Whitehead was born January 8, 1940 in Donaldsonville, GA, son of the late William O. Whitehead and Tesser Smith Whitehead. He was a firefighter engineer for the Columbus Fire Department and served in the United States Air Force.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Carlton, O.B. , and Milton Whitehead and sisters, Quillie Guthery, Mary Ruth Howerton, Inez Hayes, Lou Arrighi, Louise Blackmon, Lenora Brown, Ruby Whitehead, and Vatious Horn.
Survivors include his sister, Syble Smith (Larry) of Columbus, GA and
several nieces and nephews.
