Adele G. Behar, 90 of Columbus, GA died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 4, 2012 at Riverdale Cemetery with Rabbi Max Roth officiating, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Behar was born February 19, 1922 in Atlanta, GA daughter of the late Joseph Goldwasser and Mary Goldstein Goldwasser. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Temple Israel, member and past President of Hadassah, member of Jewish Ladies Aide Society, Member Century Club and Past President of the St. Elmo PTA.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Behar and daughter, Eileen Behar Shaul.
Survivors include her sons, Robert Behar and wife Marion of Columbus, GA; Michael Behar and wife Virginia of Baldwin, GA; sister, Hannah Zappin of Dayton, OH; brothers, Harold Goldwasser of Camarillo, CA and Nathael Goldwasser of Dayton, OH; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family request in lieu of flowers contributions are to be made to Helping Hungry Kids, 2821 Harley Ct., Columbus, GA 31909 or your favorite charity.
