A. Bradley Culverhouse, 98, of Columbus, GA died Friday, April 27, 2018 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, April 30, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. David Hardwick and Dr. Jimmy Elder officiating. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Culverhouse was born January 15, 1920 in Pike County, AL son of the late James Marvin and Ida Adams Culverhouse. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and served with Water Supply Engineers in Iran. He retired from Columbus Water Works after 43 years of service. Mr. Culverhouse held many positions during his tenure with the water works, starting as a water plant operator and retiring as President.
Mr. Culverhouse was a Baptist by faith and was a member of Gentian Baptist Church for many years. We will remember his integrity, quite dignity, willingness to help others, dedication and constant love for his family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Culverhouse was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Irene Haas Culverhouse, sister, Mrs. Voncile Sears of Clearwater, FL and a brother, James Delma Culverhouse of Orion, MI.
Survivors include his daughters, Theresa Aylward (Richard) of Mineral Bluff, GA and Deborah Medearis (John) of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren, Scott Sellers (Heather), Stephanie Sellers and Susanna Ames (Adam), great granddaughter, Lila Rose Ames, and step-grandchildren, Timothy Medearis and Rebecca Mims.
